Britney Spears Breaks Her Silence About Upcoming Documentary

The Princess of Pop is all grown up now and has something to say about her life. Britney Spears has finally spoken out with a statement about the recent Hulu documentary, Framing Britney Spears. She posted the following to her Instagram, “Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person’s life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens.”

Few understand how it is to grow up in front of a camera like Britney does. Britney was just 8 years old when she and her mother made a trip to Georgia to try out for the Mickey Mouse Club. At the time, she was turned away because she was too young, but she, with her mom’s help, continued to pursue stardom.

In 2008, Britney was found to be under the influence of some unknown substance. As a result, she was placed in a mental facility, her children were taken from her with full custody given to her ex-husband, and her father, Jamie Spears, was placed in charge of a conservatorship which he holds to this day. A conservatorship is a legal concept where a guardian or protector is appointed by a judge to manage the financial affairs, and sometimes the affairs of daily life, of another because of physical or mental limitations.

When fans heard the news of the conservatorship, they started a campaign called “Free Britney” to help release her from the more than decade-long grip of full control that her dad holds over her personal and professional life and finances. While she had originally insisted that she will not perform again until the conservatorship had ended, she recently talked about performing on the big stage.

She has also shared throwback clips of her performances to her social media. One recent clip she shared was a throwback to her performance of her hit song, Toxic. She added a comment, “Can’t believe this performance of Toxic is from 3 years ago !!! I’ll always love being on stage.” While fans may have felt a glimmer of hope with her statement, Spears went on to say, “but, I am taking the time to learn and be a normal person.” She also added, “I love simply enjoying the basics of every day life !!!!” Her statement continued with the quote about how each person has their own story and their own take on other people’s stories which ended with the quote about living behind the lens.

Britney was apparently left feeling emotional but hopeful about her future after watching the documentary about her life. The most emotional parts that were difficult for her to watch were those that involved the media circus around her motherhood. Through it all, she still has hope that she will one day be freed from the control her father currently holds.

Britney is humbled and very grateful that fans and fellow celebrities have stood by her side and spoken up on her behalf. In the future, provided she is able to come out from under the conservatorship, look for Britney to team up with a top female director to produce her own documentary that reveals her life through her own eyes.
