The most expected returning and new TV shows for 2022

There are several TVshows on the way, from final seasons to new beginnings. After the previous two years, we’ve learned not to hope for a brighter and better new year. Many new shows debuted in 2021, and more are on the way in 2022. Here are some of the shows we’re searching forward to seeing in 2022.

EUPHORIA SEASON 2

HBO premieres on January 9.

COVID delayed Euphoria season 2 for nearly a year, but it’s back and as chaotic as ever.

NAOMI will launch at The CW on January 11.

In The CW’s latest addition to the Arrowverse, a teenage girl (Kaci Walfall) obsessed with Superman discovers a mysterious past and potential superpowers when she digs into her birth family.

HBO debuts PEACEMAKER. Max on January 13

According to reports, the prequel series will serve as an origin story for the character, providing insight into his early life as a vigilante. But, in reality, he’s a hired killer, willing to murder anyone in the name of peace.

ASTRID & LILLY SAVE THE WORLD debuts on SyFy on January 26.

Astrid and Lilly, two teenage girls, inadvertently open a portal to another world and are tasked with hunting the monsters that emerge and cleaning up their mess, all while attempting to survive high school.

THE AFTERPARTY debuts on Apple TV Plus on January 28.

Tiffany Haddish, Zo Chao, Sam Richardson,  Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Illana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou, and Dave Franco star are in a murder mystery.

INVENTING ANNA will be available on Netflix on February 11.

Inventing Anna, Shonda Rhimes’ new Netflix series, follows New York City socialite Anna Delvey — or scammer Anna Sorokin, relying on who you believe.

THE BOYS SEASON 3 will be available on Amazon Prime Video on June 3.

Season 3 of The Boys is shaping up to be the show’s most ambitious season yet, thanks to a slew of new cast members.

ANDOR

Disney Plus is on the way.

Andor, an up-to-date prequel series to Rogue One, which, if you forgot, took place among the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy, is getting a second life on Disney Plus.

THE DRAGON’S HOUSE

HBO is bringing

The show is a prequel that happens 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and chronicles House Targaryen’s rise.

SEASON 13 OF MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000

Gizmoplex is on its way.

Finally, proof that life goes on after Netflix. Mystery Science Theater 3000 originally aired from 1988 to 1999 before being revived by the streaming service in 2017, only to be canceled in 2019.

1899 is scheduled for 2022.

The plot turns around a group of people traveling to America by ship. Their journey is disrupted when they contact another boat in the middle of the ocean.

So far, little has been investigated about the show. Still, Deadline reported in August that The Changeling would have a script written by Kelly Marcel (Cruella) and directed by Queen & Slim’s Melina Matsoukas.

SEASON 2 OF RUSSIAN DOLL

Season 2 of Netflix’s time-bending dramedy Russian Doll wrapped filming in June, according to a post on Instagram by show star and executive producer Natasha Lyonne.
